David Marlett is an award-winning immersive director and pioneer of live-action virtual reality filmmaking. Through his company CINEMERSIA, he wrote and directed MansLaughter —the world’s first VR feature film—and has developed other immersive projects like TENGRI. A sought-after consultant for studios and investors, he helped shape cinematic VR soundscapes with Samsung and advised Final Draft on “sphereplay” scripting for 360° storytelling. David also teaches Cinematic VR and Immersive Storytelling at universities and leads workshops on crafting narrative for virtual environments.
