Directors Statement:
In 2019, as a filmmaking team, we embarked on an expedition to the community of Japu Yanaruma. During this transformative journey, we fostered deep bonds of trust and made a profound commitment to undertake a project together, fueled by the resolute belief that their profound message of connection with nature and a desire to preserve their culture, must be safeguarded.
Ancestral Secret VR stands as a pioneering endeavor, marking the first time the Q’ero people co-create in the realm of Virtual Reality. This groundbreaking project offers a transformative encounter, inviting audiences not only to witness but also to interact, explore, and share in the cultural richness of the Q’ero Nation. By merging VR with storytelling, we unlock a new dimension of engagement and immersion, enhancing the significance of the cultural content.
Through this medium, we seek to ignite the spark of wonder and reverence for the magical and sacred universe embraced by indigenous cultures, where every element of nature is imbued with life and dialogue.
As the ancient Incas prophesied, the voices of indigenous peoples will resonate louder than ever before, indicating that the long-awaited time has arrived. Ancestral Secret VR stands poised to honor this prophecy, empowering the Q’ero people to share their timeless wisdom, ensuring their legacy endures and illuminating a path toward harmonious coexistence with our planet.
