While currently superimposed in a corporeal form that is inconsequential at best, Rowan Wood is rather relieved that technology has finally caught up to his creative ability and vision. Meandering around Vancouver, BC for almost 4 decades doing various artistic and esoteric things, he’s spent a minimum of 28 of those years playing and working within the Metaverse – no doubt in a solid attempt to delay all that “important soul-work” he’s actually supposed to be doing.
With a background in classical animation, traditional mediums, game design, 3D modeling, environment design, character design, writing, performance art, theatre and music production, Rowan calls himself a transdisciplinary artist and calls it a day. Rowan also loves to teach, knit, teach people to knit, drinks way too much tea, and his sport of choice is equestrian. Most days, he proudly considers himself an artist, scientist, alchemist, and shaman. All esoteric dialogue is extremely welcome – repeat interactions are encouraged. Ensure you get your card stamped, as your 11th manifestation is free.
Currently, Rowan is working on a fairly substantial project in Virtual Reality (aka: “Realer Reality”), funded by the gracious Canadian Council for the Arts: “Liminal”. He also sits on the Board of Directors for a wonderful non-profit, “Creator Jam Co.” – a foundation that encourages learning and discovering through the act of creation. He also plays Dungeons & Dragons every second Saturday with his friends (just for fun).
