Carlos J. Ochoa, a pioneer in immersive storytelling, has spent over a decade creating transformative experiences that unite classical music, virtual reality, and education. His creative journey began with early explorations in 360º video, collaborating with artists, musicians, and educators to discover how music could be felt through technology—not just heard.
A key milestone was a groundbreaking live performance with the iconic artist, painter, and photographer “Ouka Leele”, interpreting Concierto de Aranjuez. Without rehearsals or conventional staging, the piece used Oculus Rift and Google Tilt Brush to craft ephemeral digital art in real time, captured in stereoscopic 360º. Despite technical and financial challenges, the experience—brought to life with the support of the talented CEV technical team—cemented Carlos’s belief in the power of immersive creativity.
Later, he reconstructed the Virtual Museum of Kunka, the Arab city of Cuenca, in Frame VR. Visitors could wander through mosques, markets, and bathhouses while listening to the evocative compositions of the international musician “Chema Vílchez”, such as The Land of the Three Cultures. The fusion of rebuilt architecture, 360º video, and enveloping soundscapes offered a magical encounter between past and present.
In response to the challenges of the pandemic, the “Reina Sofía High School of Music” entrusted Carlos with a singular mission: to bring classical concerts to students who could no longer attend in person. Using 4K 360º cameras and ambisonic audio recorded in the Sony Auditorium, he developed 12 immersive musical narratives featuring works by “Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Respighi”. These stories became part of the VR Music with the Five Senses platform, reaching thousands of students across Spain and setting a new international benchmark in immersive educational innovation.
This creative evolution culminates in “Vivaldi 3.0”, an ambitious and emotionally rich XR experience that reinterprets The Four Seasons through Vivaldi’s original sonnets—reimagined by a team of writers and brought to life by “Ara Malikian” and the Camerata of the Reina Sofía School. This mystical journey invites the viewer into enchanted forests, seasonal landscapes, and metaphorical canvases where music and nature express the cycle of life.
Throughout the process, Carlos J. Ochoa integrated generative AI tools to transform sonnets into scenes, sounds into images, and classical compositions into immersive narratives that transcend time and age. The result is a timeless artistic work that evokes both childlike wonder and adult reflection, rooted in values such as sustainability, equity, and cultural education.
Carlos’s vision has always been to create immersive worlds that are meaningful, participatory, and emotionally resonant, guided by a deep social commitment. With each project, he contributes to the evolution of how society connects with art, technology, and nature—driven by the conviction that creativity and empathy are essential tools for transforming our world.
