Mariusz Borzyszkowski

Mariusz Borzyszkowski is an artist who utilizes immersive techniques, particularly leveraging VR technology. Start from 2018 they participated in the creation of film materials, music clip, 3d assets and art installations using various experimental technique, including virtual reality and virtual production technology.

They earned a Master’s degree in Intermedia, converging on video, experimental and time-based media art at the Academy of Fine Arts in GdaƄsk, Poland. Part of their studies was completed as an exchange student at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences in Germany, Time-Based Media faculty, where they participated in various team projects related to film production, games and extended reality. Currently, their primary area of research revolves around virtual reality, not solely as a technology, but rather in the context of creating immersive spaces.

In their work, they focus particularly on exploring the possibilities of new technologies and employing them to create art that allows viewers to engage with the artwork in a new, more involved way. They experiment and seeks new paths of artistic expression, fully utilizing the possibilities offered by the contemporary world of new technologies. Through these means, they strive to develop strategies and tell stories that bring the audience into direct contact with the presented content, encouraging reflection and interaction with the artwork in unconventional ways.

Simultaneously, as an artist, they are always aware of the contexts of their works and often addresses social issues within them. However, they do so objectively, seeking the essence and cause of a given situation and allowing viewers to discover and interpret the message within their own contexts.
