Michel D.T. Lam

Michel D.T. Lam is a Montreal-based writer, director, and producer whose work spans fiction, documentary, and multimedia. A graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal and the Institut national de l’image et du son (INIS), Lam first gained recognition with his award-winning short films Plus ou moins trente and Sur le quai de la gare. His documentary …and music, produced by the National Film Board of Canada, received critical acclaim for its lyrical exploration of sound and storytelling.

In 2014, Lam expanded into immersive media with Harmonielehre, a groundbreaking project featuring Kent Nagano and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Known for his versatility and innovation, Lam collaborates with a wide range of production companies and broadcasters including DBcom Media, Esperamos, Halo Création, the NFB, CBC, Télé-Québec, Discovery World, TFO, Knowledge Network, Planète+, and Curiosity Stream.

He also leads several acclaimed international documentary series, such as Le Théâtre des opérations, Waterfront Cities of the World, The Island Diaries, and The Life-Sized City.
