Shiuan Yan is a 3D artist and XR developer, specializing in virtual reality (XR) research, and holds a master’s degree in design from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Her artistic and design journey is deeply rooted in a rich foundation of graphic design, 3D animation, and visual communication arts.
With a deep passion and understanding of various artistic forms, such as painting and music (particularly the violin), Shiuan Yan excels at creating synesthetic experiences by harmoniously blending sensory elements—visuals, sound, light, shadow, movement, form, space, and color. Drawing inspiration from life, she transforms these insights into creative energy, guided by a keen sense of balance and rhythm across various forms of expression.
The inspiration for her work stems from a deep contemplation of life’s perspectives. Over time, she came to realize that our understanding of things is not fixed; concepts of black and white, right and wrong, often shift with our state of mind and the passage of time. This contemplation led Shiuan Yan to create a piece that seeks to express a process of self-exploration and introspection through art. She believes this is a life theme many people encounter—a journey of evolving understanding and growth.
For Shiuan Yan, art and design are not merely acts of creation but profound dialogues with the world, where each piece tells a unique and meaningful story. Her goal is to continue innovating within XR applications and storytelling, contributing to the future of virtual experiences. Shiuan Yan believes that when we reach the depths of the soul through art, it sparks lasting transformation for individuals and society.
