Xenia Meierson is a mixed media artist living and studying in Germany with Slavic roots.
Her work explores the intersections of animation, immersive media, and speculative storytelling. Using both classical techniques and contemporary tools, she addresses themes such as collective consciousness, social systems, and the potential of art to make the unseen visible. Currently enrolled in the Master’s program for Media Art and Design at Bauhaus University Weimar, she builds on a background of award-winning work in international Fulldome and short film festivals.
Her films have been shown at events including the Fulldome Festival Jena, Tokyo Short Film Festival, New York Tri-State, Cambridge Shorts, and many others. Xenia’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in her lived experiences as a queer, neurodivergent person and newadays mother and draws on her Slavic identity to explore forms of resilience, tenderness, and resistance.
In recent years, she has increasingly focused on collaborative, feminist, and technologically experimental formats – often involving hybrid media, participatory approaches, and critical perspectives on the digital. Whether through generative systems, tactile visuals, or speculative characters, her work invites others into poetic, alien, and empowering worlds.
