FIVARS 2023: The Pinnacle of Virtual & Augmented Reality Storytelling Returns

As the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) enchants the city, another cinematic wonder enters the spotlight. The 11th edition of the Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories (FIVARS), in its 9th year, makes a triumphant return in 2023.

This year’s program is nothing short of groundbreaking, showcasing 60 new immersive works across the spectrum of formats, from more than 24 countries. The offerings span stereoscopic spherical video, live VR performances, stop-motion augmented reality, hybrid dance performances, and awe-inspiring AI-powered installations with a paranormal twist.
