It is a time, more than ever, to come together and share our experiences from every corner of the map. Since 2015 FIVARS has been helping performers, documentarians, animators, artists, experience developers, and producers share their perspectives with an international audience.

As the technology has been improved and made more readily available, we are beginning to see the fruit of the labour to which many persistent and pioneering people have given their time this past decade and beyond.

So FIVARS is excited to announce that it will be running a festival in February, in addition to its annual fall program in support of such new works completed within the past six months.

The inaugural “FIVARS in FEB” 2021 gives us another opportunity to discover unexpected, unknown, inspiring work and not have to wait until the end of the year to keep the energy going.

Director and VFX producer Jonathan Sims wrote: FIVARS 2020 was a film festival in true, real time virtual reality. This is a benchmark and under the precedent of the pandemic historic and important.“

Podcaster Kent Bye wrote: “My lens into the 360 medium has been indelibly shaped by the curatorial vision of the major film festivals, which has had a very specific threshold for storytelling & form. It’s refreshing to see something distinctly different with Keram Malicki-Sanchez’s curation of FIVARS.”

Unlike most immersive story programs that are tethered to an existing conference or film festival FIVARS stands as a wholly independent VR and AR stories festival now available through a platform that requires nothing more than a web browser (supported) mobile device, and ticket to the show.

Since 2015 has showcased and in many cases debuted over 200 original works from over 30 countries. In 2020 the company launched its own online platform under its Spatialized.Events banner. The platform features best-in-class resolution and playback response, in addition to ambisonic and 5.1 audio, 3D support, voice and video chat and Eventbrite integration.
